Low carbon steel wire is also known as iron wire. Low carbon steel wire is a kind of metal wire made of low carbon steel. The composition of iron wire varies according to different uses. The ingredients it contains are: iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, carbon, zinc, and other elements. The carbon content of low carbon bright alkaline steel wire ranges from 0.06 to 0.20 percent, but the most commonly used grades are 1008 (0.08 percent carbon) and 1018 (0.18 percent carbon). Low-carbon bright alkaline steel wire is most often supplied in a "drawn" or "hard drawn" state, but can also be supplied in a bright annealed state according to special requirements.
Scope of Application
In general, low-carbon steel wire is the widest range of application - from the production of nails, mesh and reinforced concrete structures, to use the wire as the final product.
● Manufacture of nails - not bright annealed wire with a diameter of 1 to 6 mm.
● As tie wire (binding wire) - heat-treated wire without coating or galvanized.
● Low-carbon steel wire is also used in concrete construction for binding reinforcement.
● Manufacture of welded wire mesh - bright wire or galvanized wire almost all diameters (0.5 mm - 6.0 mm).
● Production of woven wire mesh - annealed uncoated or galvanized wire from 0.3 to 2 mm.
● Production of other types of metal mesh - hexagonal twisted, jointed, grooved, etc.
● The production of barbed wire - wire uncoated or galvanized with a diameter of 1.4 to 2.8 mm.
● Agriculture - for growing hops, grapes - annealed and not annealed wire diameter 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm.
● Air lines of communication - galvanized low carbon wire diameter from 2.0 mm to 4.0 mm.
