ASTM A588 steel is classified into Class A, Class B, Class C, and Class K. The ASTM A588 steel specification is based on the standard specification for high-strength low-alloy structural steel with a lower yield point of up to 50ksi for applications requiring high strength and corrosion resistance.

Scope of Application

ASTM A588 steel is known for its weather resistance. When exposed to external conditions, its corrosion resistance becomes stronger even if it is not painted. ASTM A588 steel has four times the corrosion resistance of carbon steel. The application of ASTM A588 steel is very wide.
